BROKEN WAX RECORDINGS & BREAKING DOWN


The guys at Broken Wax have been working hard since March to bring you their next release. Mood II Swing "Closer" was a massive hit on King Street 10 years ago, and is now being brought bang up to date with some fresh flavours for 2004. To celebrate its anniversary, the Broken Wax release will include two stunning re-works from Booker T"s Kings Of Soul, the long awaited DJ $ki Breakdown Bump, plus a re-mastered version of the original classic. Part two will follow later in the year.

Next up is the long overdue release of $ki"s NW7 Project "File Under Garage", which finally lands on Breaking Down next month . "Nothin "03" and "Move Your Body "98" both feature alongside two brand new 2-Step cuts. Breaking Down have their next 3 releases ready to go, so watch out for some more superb tracks over the coming months.

2TUF 4U RECORDS


The next release on 2Tuf 4U is one of the most sought after tracks on the underground circuit. Now 6 years since it was produced, Tuff Jam feat. Pepper Mashay "So Excited" comes to us with the original House mix, the Lavonz & Tuff Vocal, a bumping dub from the Sugar Beetz boys, plus a brand new edit from The NW7 Project. Those of you wondering where the DIY Dub has gone needn"t worry, as this will appear later in the year.

As a simultaneous release with "So Excited", 2T4U009 sees the return of 2001"s classic "Deep Deep Love". Fans of El-Tuff will be happy to know they can grab the smooth "Deep Dough Dub", the bass heavy "Dirty Dub", plus a brand new version from Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown. As if that wasn"t enough, there"s a re-mastered version of the original on the 12" as well.

As usual, Matt Qualifide has been working overtime to bring us some of the finest House & Garage cuts available. Following his massive release on Prolific Dubbs ("Badman" / "Ruff "n" Tuff 2004" - check out www.prolificrecordings.co.uk for details), Qualifide is about to unleash Jeremy Sylvester"s "Don"t U Wanna Be" into the UK underground. Backed with a bassline heavy rub from the man himself, expect this pacakge to land shortly as release 13 on Qualifide Recordings. STAYLOCKED RECORDINGS

After scoring a number 1 in the UK Garage sales chart with Duncan Powell"s "Right Now EP", the StayLocked crew are looking for a repeat performance with their next release. "More Than Ever" originally appeared on the first SLR 12", and has since been given the remix treatment from 4 very different angles. $ki"s Final Reminder Dub takes care of business with a Tuff Jam-esque club mix, while Speed Garage favourites Lee Viner and T"n"G drop their own superb cuts. The final mix comes courtesy of Liam himself, who twists the track into its fourth and final direction. Limited copies will be available from Uptown, City Sounds and D"Vinyl on 31/07/04, with a nationwide release to follow soon after.

StayLocked already have several other projects planned for this year, so we"d advise that you keep an eye out for one of the UK"s freshest underground labels.

The award winning Rossi B and Luca have lined up something very special for their next release on M2DF. Featuring 4 of Underground Garage"s hottest 4x4 producers, this EP has already caused a stir throughout the scene. The 12" is to feature the pirate-hammered cuts "Never Part" (Duncan Powell) and "Got That Problem" (Scandalous Unlimited), along with Qualifide & Jason H"s mix of "Frequency". Misty Dubs" bass shaking "I"ve Had It" rounds off an already heavy slice of wax.

Distraction are back on the scene, proving that they"re still a force to be reckoned with. Already enjoying success with the original mixes of K Warren "Waiting For The Rain", the next release on Distraction will contain their chart-entering bashment track "Eternally" by Moni. Featuring a smooth vocal and slamming dub from $ki, this piece of plastic will be in shops before the end of Summer. One of the most well known & consistent labels on the UK Garage scene, Point Blank are back with remixes of Kym Mazelle"s "Quality". Almost sold out for the second time, FUN"s "It"s The Way" remixes are already available from record stores nationwide.
